Herpes HSV 2 Symptoms

herpes hsv 2 symptomsGenital herpes is an STD that infects around 16% of individuals 14-49 years of age and results in blisters on or around the genital region. While genital herpes is normally a result of herpes simplex type 2, it can also be caused by an infection from facial herpes simplex (type 1).Even though both sexes can get herpes, it is more common in females than males. There are also additional feminine signs of genital herpes including cervicitis and vaginal discharge. While there are currently no herpes cures, there are a number of herpes remedies to manage unpleasant symptoms and suppress outbreaks.

The Following are Herpes HSV 2 Symptoms:

“Symptoms of herpes are called outbreaks. The first outbreak appears within 2 weeks after you become infected and can last for several weeks. These effects might include tingling or sores (lesions) near the area where herpes simplex virus (HSV) entered your body, such as on your genital or rectal area, and on your buttocks or thighs. Occasionally, these lesions may appear on other parts of your body where the virus has entered through broken skin. Sores also can appear inside the vagina and on the cervix (opening to the womb) in women. They can appear in the urinary passage of women and men. Small red bumps appear first, develop into small blisters, and then become itchy, painful sores that might develop a crust and will heal without leaving a scar.

Often, though, people don’t recognize their first outbreak or those that follow. People who have mild or no herpes lesions at all may not think they are infected with herpes. They can still transmit the virus to others, however.”

While the most common genital herpes symptoms involve itchy and painful sores, additional indicators of an outbreak include:

  • red cracked skin with no itching or pain;
  • fever;
  • headaches;
  • swollen glands;
  • flu-like symptoms;
  • painful urination;
  • and more.

Interestingly, genital herpes, oral herpes, and herpes zoster (shingles) all use the same treatment, because herpes viruses are similar enough that the same remedies work for each condition. All forms of herpes remain hidden in the nerve roots, and only expose themselves when the immune system is weak enough for the virus to strike. Treatment works by boosting the immune system such that herpes is suppressed within the cells it has infected, preventing it from rising to the surface of the skin.

“Cures” are available in all-natural non-prescription form, prescription drug treatment, and topical cream treatment. The most effective form of treatment is widely considered to be antiviral prescription or non-prescription herbal treatment; prescription remedies are often made with harsh drugs that create many negative side effects, natural “cures” however have no such side effects and have even been reported to be more effective than prescription remedies.

Though none of these remedies are true “cures,” they can still help you manage your oral or genital herpes. Natural treatment is one of the most popular oral and genital herpes remedies, and it “cures” away outbreak sores quickly and safely. This of course does not mean that it cures away the virus itself – killing it in the nerve root – but no herpes treatment is available that can do this yet, either.
