Herpes Virus Treatment

01 Jun Herpes Virus Treatment

herpes virus treatmentBecause HSV is a very common sexually transmitted disease, effective herpes virus remedies are important to a large number of individuals. While it is more likely that herpes will be transmitted during an outbreak, HSV is transmittable even when no lesions are present. Taking an antiviral can help to prevent herpes outbreaks while decreasing the likelihood that  it will be spread to sexual partners. A number of herpes remedies exist including over the counter herpes remedies and prescription herpes medications.

During an initial HSV outbreak, infected individuals not only suffer from painful blisters, they often experience herpes outbreak symptoms including rash, body aches, painful urination, fever, swollen glands and more.

Herpes Treatment: Why it’s Important

“Herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1 – oral herpes) or HSV2 (genital herpes). Genital herpes can be caused by either form of herpes, while oral herpes is more commonly caused by HSV1.

Herpes is spread by contact with the mouth, genital region, or skin with either developed or developing herpes blisters. Transmission is also possible between outbreaks, when visible or asymptomatic viral shedding occurs from the original site of infection.

Both oral and genital herpes are most often spread by people who are asymptomatic and not experiencing any noticeable signs or symptoms.

Genital herpes can cause recurrent painful genital sores, and infection can be especially severe in people with suppressed immune systems. Regardless of severity of symptoms, genital herpes frequently causes psychological distress in people who know they are infected.

Herpes labialis and genital herpes infections can increase the risk for HIV infections two-fold. The immune response to HSV2 can also make an HIV infected individual more infectious.

Pregnant women who have an active genital herpes infection when they give birth may pass the infection to their baby.”

Cures for the herpes virus do not exist: that’s a fact that everyone needs to accept. If you have herpes, you can’t just simply get rid of it; if you do not have herpes and you are judging someone for having this condition, there’s nothing they can do about it – so lay off! Having herpes isn’t the end of the world – 20-45% of the world population (varying by area) have herpes, and without proper cures that number isn’t going to go down any time soon. Treatment, however, is available in different forms.

Herbal remedies are known to be as effective as prescription herpes “cures” like acyclovir. More significantly, these natural remedies also completely lack side effects – which is not something that acyclovir or valacyclovir can claim.

On one thing, all people with herpes can agree: topical cream remedies are probably the worst form of treatment. Though they can offer some relief for pain or itchiness, and sometimes swelling, they are incredibly ineffective in reducing the time it takes for cold sores to heal. Furthermore, a cream treatment cannot preemptively stop cold sore outbreaks from occurring the way that antiviral “cures” can. “Cures” is only a term to describe these remedies’ effects on outbreaks – the treatment can drastically reduce the time that an outbreak is active – and can even prevent them from occurring. But these “cures” cannot truly kill the virus the way true cures could; if a retailer is trying to sell you a real herpes “cure,” back away! Don’t waste your money on any fake snake oil treatment.

Treatment is the only option if you have herpes, until a cures for herpes are developed. Find the right treatment by doing your research and finding the best treatment that suits your needs.
